Promoting MarcB IT on the Street

Black tablecloth with MarcB IT logo and website, displayed on dining table before community event setup

Some of my favorite months — March, April, and now May — are already flying by in 2025. But May is a great time to hit the streets. As in: street fairs.

I recently picked up everything I need to represent MarcB IT at upcoming events across Westchester and even Rockland County, where the well-known Nyack Street Fair is happening this Sunday, May 18.

While it’s too late to join that one as a vendor, I’m ready for the next opportunity.

That’s why I turned to Staples to create a custom tablecloth featuring my logo, website, and core services. I also designed a foam poster that will be mounted on an easel — a quick and clear way to help people understand what MarcB IT is all about.

Then came the Home Depot trip — I picked up a 6′ table and two padded chairs to set the stage for real conversations with anyone curious about local, homegrown IT support. Whether it’s in-person troubleshooting or remote Zoom sessions, I want visitors to know there’s a friendly, skilled tech nearby who’s ready to help.

Of course, I’ll also be bringing my Samsung laptop and Apple iPad, which will display a Google Form so that visitors can enter their contact information directly. That means diligent follow-up — but it’s a great way to build relationships beyond the fair.

More Than a Table — A Full Campaign

My marketing approach is definitely multi-pronged. As I’ve written in previous posts, the centerpiece of that strategy is my ongoing Google Ads campaign. I just reviewed the data from April 1 through Monday, May 12 — and the results have been encouraging:

? Nearly 2,500 impressions of my ads on Google
?? 143 clicks through to my website

Of course, those clicks come at a cost. My current average CPC (cost-per-click) is about $7.00 — so yes, do the math… Yikes! ?

Still, I find myself checking Google Ads daily, watching the numbers climb — and always hoping that conversions (form submissions or calls) continue to increase alongside them.

In addition to digital ads, I’ve also started advertising with local religious organizations, reserving ad space in monthly newsletters that go directly to their members.

And then there’s the good ol’ flyer. While it may not have the reach or tracking power of a digital campaign, it still has value — especially when it shows up in the right hands at the right time.

MarcB IT is open, growing, and excited to meet you in person. If you’re in Westchester or Rockland and attending a community event soon, keep an eye out for my table. I’d love to chat, troubleshoot, or just say hi.

And speaking of events — I just learned there may still be an opportunity to exhibit at an upcoming Nyack Street Fair in July. Time to send off an email to the promoters and find out if MarcB IT can truly take it to the street.
