MarcB IT Picks Up Speed

Juggling a full-time job while growing a business is no small feat — but this week, I really felt the momentum building behind MarcB IT.

Earlier this week, I traveled into Manhattan to service a HP LaserJet Pro 400 with a paper feed issue. Today, I’m working with another client to complete the installation of a brand-new Chromebook. Two different clients, two different boroughs — same mission: making tech easier for people to use and rely on.

And yes, growing a business also means growing a toolkit. After work, I made a quick stop at The Home Depot to pick up my latest IT gadget: a Milwaukee lithium-ion electric drill. It’ll come in handy when I return to the Manhattan client to safely remove and re-install internal printer parts.

I have to say — I dig The Home Depot. And I’ve always dug Best Buy, too. So it was really disappointing to learn that the Hartsdale, NY Best Buy has permanently closed. That location was a favorite of mine, especially years ago when I was building my first PC. The help desk staff there were outstanding — patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful.

Best Buy is now directing former Hartsdale customers to the Yonkers location, which is thankfully still within striking distance for me. But I’ll definitely miss the original shop — and I hope the store recycles just as responsibly as it served.

As I write this, it’s still early in the day, but I’m already gearing up for my 1:00 PM service call. I’m learning that a great client base includes retirees who may not want to deal with crowds at big-box stores — or, like John on Riverside Drive in Manhattan, simply don’t live near one.

Let’s be clear: I’m not out to become a millionaire (though hey, who knows?). What I am focused on is serving a segment of the market that often gets overlooked — people who need real help, in person, from someone they can trust.

Of course, MarcB IT is ready to help anyone with tech headaches — from individuals to small businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations.

If you’re in Westchester or Rockland County and need reliable, in-person tech support, I’d love to help. Whether it’s a printer that won’t feed paper or a laptop acting up, MarcB IT is ready to troubleshoot — and keep you productive.
